Senior Bookkeeper - 30 Hours

Your new companyHays are working with an established successful engineering business in the Stevenage area who are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join the business. This is is a great opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who is looking for a role 30 hours per week. Your new role This a great opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper / Finance manager who is looking for a varied role, main duties will include managing all transactional finance Month/year end preparation and payroll administration.Key Duties: Managing all supplier payments Reviewing monthly Creditors reports Process Expenses & Credit card payments. Nominal Ledger - Accruals & Prepayment scheduling Sales Ledger receipts + reconciliation Customer Statement, queries and payment chasing Payroll, Auto-enrolment CIS + PAYE & reconcile & payments with HMRC. Bank Account reconciliation. Month end activities - Profit & Loss and balance sheet reconciliations Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns Prepare Year End ready for Audit. To prepare and present complete accounts monthly to Director What you'll need to succeed The successful candidate for the role will have experience as a hands on Finance Manager/Bookkeeper working within an SME business, this is a fast paced reactive business and the ideal candidate will be hands on, have excellent communication skills, experience of Accounting Systems and Xero would be advantageous.
